This year, GIRO d’Italia celebrates its 100th anniversary and thus there is something not only riders, but also fans are supposed to be looking forward to. First stages already started on sunny Sardinia and that is where in the third stage in a row Quick-Step Floors Cycling Team managed without difficulty to split the peloton to pieces in the strong winds, particularly thanks to the talented Bob Jungels. They rode to the finish line the young, only 22-year-old, Fernando Gaviria who wears the pink jersey of the general leader while getting also the white one under the age of 25.
We keep the fingers crossed for Quick – Step to yield the best possible results in this year´s GIRA.
