Tour de France – the most prestigious cycling races have already come over one week and with good results for Team Etixx – Quick – Step.
The best sprinters always want to win the first stage and at least for a while to retain the yellow jersey. And Marcel Kittel almost made it as he just about finished second. The second day Julian Alaphilippe took the second place and Daniel Martin missed the bronze medal. At the next stage, Marcel Kittel won the best, 7th place, however, Alaphilippe remained on the second place in General classification.
Tuesday was the happy day for Team Etixx, as Kittel made every effort to claim his victory and with the time of 5:28:30 he won the stage and got 120 points. That was this year´s 1th place on TdF.
The stage 6 was at the finish ready for sprinters and all riders were at the start. Kittel may be destined to finish second on this year´s TdF, and this was no difference at this stage. In the Race classification, Alaphilippe also finished second with a deficit of 5:11 to the leader. In the Points classification, Kittel comes second.
Saturday was not an easy day at all for riders and they tried to compete up to the peak of Col du Tourmalet – the most famous Pyrenees hill. They had to climb up a rise of 4,350 metres. Daniel Martin came second (again for Etixx) proving to be well prepared for this year´s TdF while being the team leader. After the Sunday´s stage (14th place) in the race classification, he takes the third place with a deficit of 19 seconds to the leader.
Tour and riders have still a lot stages to go and we will see what they will bring. We are rooting for Team Etixx riders to get the best possible results.
