Danubia Nanotech, a Slovak company, specializing in carbon nanomaterials such as graphene and carbon nanotubes participated in „IoT ASIA“, a major conference held in Singapore on March 21 – March 22, 2018. At the conference and the TechSpace workshop various innovations were presented from all around the world including the two sensors by Danubia Nanotech.
The Graphene-based sensors were presented here. The first one is the so-called “grafénový plošný teplomer” enabling the measurement of the temperature on any surface (plane, curvilinear, flexible), as it is created by spraying and subsequently calibrating. Main advantages are accuracy, sensitivity, and in particular it measures the temperature in direct contact with the measured object, disregarding other influences of ambient temperature.
The second innovation is the thermo-physical sensor enabling the detection of changes in humidity of ambient materials or the environment in order to monitor its polymerization and changes in the structure. It may be used e.g. to monitor the process of hardening concrete without drilling samples. It is poured permanently in the concrete structures and subsequently only the results are measured (even after several years). Another end-user application can monitor hardening of polymer and epoxy mixtures.
