Delivery of mail packages will become more ecological. Slovakian mail rented four electric vans (Citroën Jumper) from the GreenWay Operator company. The mail company will pay 301 thousand euros a year for a four-year operative leasing of electric vans along with complex service.
The leasing will not only achieve transports without exhalates but will also reduce expenses. Peter Badík, co-founder of GreenWay, says that postmen are the company’s natural partner, because they use the same routes, set in advance, regularly.
The vans are able to run for 220 km for one charge. Change of battery is possible on the four special stations, which GreenWay company operates in Slovakia, and takes only seven minutes.
New electric vehicles should make 40 000 kilometers a year. In a future, there also may be more than just four vans. „I believe that cooperation with the Slovakian mail will deepen in the future,“ notes Badík.
The Slovakian mail also plans to purchase 10 cargo trucks running on compressed natural gas till 2018. The postmen already have experience with operating 19 electric motocycles.
