Spring is the most important part of the season for professional team Etixx – Quick-Step. Team started in every prestigious classic – a one day race of the cycling calendar – with the clear aim to win. Dutchman Niki Terpstra won Le Samyn and a month later German Marcel Kittel won the Scheldeprijs for the fourth time and beat all the leading men of bunch sprint on cycling world. In the historical balance of this race he got the first place. Congratulations!
In addition to one day races Etixx riders fared well at the star-packed race Tour of Catalunya, where new signing rider Daniel Martin achieved the overall third place and won a stage. The victory also enjoyed Zdenek Stybar and Fernando Gaviria at Tirreno – Adriatico or Kittel at the Three Days De Panne.
During this season Etixx has 21 professional wins, seven more than the second best team Sky. Riders added even eleven second and seven third places.
Leaders of the team for the spring classics will fight for victory in the April hilly Ardennes classics, where they achieved a lot of successes last year.
